                           UFO Dynamic DNS Updater
                       For Win95, Win98, NT4, Win2000

How to unzip:

Use a Win32 unzip program, or else you will need to rename
UFODYN~1.EXE to UFODYNDNS.EXE because it is a longfilename.

How to configure:

* Run UFODYNDNS.EXE and select EDIT > OPTIONS

(MAIN OPTIONS)
* Under the HOSTS tab, Choose ADD.
* Type in your hostname, without any trailing "." dot.
* Change the "dyndns.org" domain name to match the name
of the service you use. i.e.: thebbs.org
* Click OK
* Click the checkbox next to the hostname to enable it.
* Click on the EDIT bar to Edit the Host Options.

(HOST OPTIONS)
* Under the HOSTS tab of the Hosts Options Window,
enter your UserName and Password for this account.
Your UserName is usually the same as your Hostname
(without the dot and domain at the end).
* Under the IP-ADDRESS tab of the Hosts Options Window,
choose the method used to detect the current IP of
your computer. The "DETECT LOCALLY" option is the
fastest method. Alternatives are to detect by server,
  or send a predefined IP-address.
* Check the ENABLE_WILDCARDS box to allow any prefixes
  to resolve to your hostname.
  ie: anyname.yourhostname.thebbs.org
* Under the DIAL-UP tag of the Hosts Options Window,
click the checkbox of your connection type. If you
have multiple connections listed here, check only
the one you want to use.
* Under the MX_RECORD tab, you can define the IP of
your Mail Server, if you run your own mail server,
and if your dyn dns provider allows MX records.
* Under the OFFLINE_IP tab, you can optionally enter
an IP to use when you are not connected.
* Click on OK to close the Hosts Options Window.

(MAIN OPTIONS)
* Under the DETECTION tab, Choose either RAS, Ping, or
WinINET. This selects the method the updater will use
to detect what your IP is.
* If you are using a dialup connection, this should be set
to RAS. For network or cablemodem/DSL connections, this
should be set to either Ping or WinINET.
* Set the Dispatch interval seconds. I suggest setting it
to 10 seconds or higher to minimize your CPU usage.
* Under the PROXY tab, you can define your proxy server
if you are using one. If you are not using one then
  skip this.
* Under the STARTUP tab, click on the "ENABLE" Checkbox
to allow the program to operate. You can optionally
configure it to automaticly run at Windows startup and
to start either as a window or a tray icon here.
* Under the Flags tab, you can optionally choose to work
with flags. This is only for advanced users.
* Under the MISC Tab, you can optionally check that all
your hostnames are using the correct IP every few hours.
Here you can optionally configure WAV sounds to be
played when going online/offline or during a failure.

Thats it! UFO DynDNS Updater is now configured. You will
need to exit it and re-run it to enable the changes.
When it restarts, you should check the "Current Status"
Window to make sure it says: "Status: Online" when you
are online. If it does not, then you may need to change
the internet detection method as described above.
